Goodnight, Tinkerbell
We lost a member of the It’s Your Guitar family yesterday: our intrepid Chihuahua, Tinkerbell.

We didn’t always dress Tink in costumes, but she wore it well when we did! My wife and I always adopt older dogs and animals that have been displaced. As a result, we rarely get enough time with them; five or six years on average. Tinkerbell came to us from an abusive home 15 years ago and has been an integral part of our family unit ever since. She was part of our daily lives longer than any other pet we’ve owned and her loss is greatly felt.
We’ll miss you, Tink!

Gussied Up Seagull
October was fairly slow on the guitar front, but Rocco and I kept busy. We restrung, set up, and polished our old Seagull Entourage Mini Jumbo acoustic guitar. Seagull is a Canadian company, a subsidiary of Godin Guitars. I wanted a sturdy acoustic guitar made by fine American luthiers using spruce, mahogany, and rosewood, but I could only afford one crafted by French Canadians (in The Village of LaPatrie, Quebec) with wild cherry and cedar. I bought this instrument at Guitar Center (Totowa, NJ) in 2009/2010 and it has seen hard times, especially when my kids were young and destructive.
The neck started separating from the body a few years ago but I glued it back.

The top had a long crack that I repaired with super glue a few months ago. I tried to sand, stain, and refinish the repaired area but it didn’t turn out very well. It’s okay; it adds to the guitar’s already “rustic” look.

Rocco and I installed the Fishman pickup system several years ago. It’s a combo of an under-bridge piezo pickup and an internal microphone.

Despite the damage, or perhaps because of it, this Seagull has improved with age and sound sounds better then when I first bought it. Shine on, Seagull, you crazy mini jumbo!
